Vitamin Infusions | What We Offer
IV Therapy Q & A
During an IV infusion treatment, you’ll receive an IV of fluids and a mixture of specific nutrients, which may include magnesium, zinc vitamin C, calcium, and some B vitamins. The blend drips directly into your bloodstream, bypassing your digestive tract. You reap the benefits more effectively than you would from oral supplements, because oral supplements aren’t always entirely absorbed or processed correctly through your intestines. Also, the direct delivery of fluids and nutrients into your bloodstream means you feel the effects more quickly.
The nutrients penetrate you at the cellular level, which enhances organ function and energy levels. Expect to feel more alert during the day and to sleep better at night. These nutrient drips are designed to deliver very real health benefits.
Dr. Taylor will evaluate your condition and determine if you’d benefit from a drip. IV therapy treats conditions from dehydration to nutrient-absorption disorders. Often, people with chronic migraines, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, or unexplained fatigue benefit the most. She can blend the IV contents so that it addresses your particular health needs.
Dr. Taylor will devise a treatment plan for you. IV therapy might be a one-time quick boost, or it might be something you get once every few weeks to address nutrient deficiencies and chronic conditions.
IV therapy does require the insertion of a needle and a tiny tube into your vein. You’ll feel the prick of the needle, but it’s short lived and once the IV is in, the pain dissipates. The entire process lasts about 30 minutes, during which you relax as the IV drips into your system. It’s an outpatient procedure, so once the IV is finished, you can go on with the rest of your day as planned.
You may notice a lighter, brighter feeling immediately, or it could take a few hours. The effects can last up to 2 weeks, depending on the combination of nutrients you received and your particular condition. The goal in IV therapy is to help you feel better and function at your optimal levels.
