Julie Taylor, MD, MPH
Functional Medicine for Nashville, Tennessee
Welcome to the Julie Taylor MD Center for Functional Medicine - serving patients with compassionate care in California and Tennessee.
Dr. Julie Taylor’s practice, serving California and Tennessee, focuses on functional medicine with a specialization in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.
The functional medicine approach is based on finding the root of the problem rather than simply treating symptoms. In addition, Dr. Taylor and her team promote the optimal functioning of your body and practice the model of individualized, patient-centered, and science-based care. Instead of looking at the patient as an illness or cluster of symptoms, Dr. Taylor considers your lifestyle, genetics, and environment when diagnosing and recommending treatment. To get started, fill out the Patient Questionnaire to begin the new patient process.
"I am a functional medicine and wellness practitioner and am excited you are here. I have helped countless men and women of all ages change their life for the better and look forward to helping you!"

Nashville Patient Functional Medicine Q & A
Before we begin the patient process, we ask you to fill out our patient questionnaire to make sure we're a good fit for each other. This will give us an in-depth understanding of your health to ensure we can provide the best care!
Not yet. We currently serve patients in Tennessee via telehealth appointments and consultations. As of 2024, we are in the works to open our physical location in Nashville. The quality of care you receive remains exceptional, even through telehealth. Our team is fully equipped to review and address your lab work remotely, ensuring you receive the same attentive and comprehensive support as you would in person.
Functional medicine takes a patient-centered approach to screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Instead of looking at the patient as an illness or cluster of symptoms, Dr. Taylor considers your lifestyle, genetics, and environment when diagnosing and recommending treatments. This empowers you to take an active role in your own health.
Dr. Taylor will spend an hour with you at your first appointment to connect and gain the information needed to develop a customized treatment plan. You’ll be asked about daily habits, prior illnesses, environmental exposures, and genetics. She may recommend specific lab tests, including blood and stool to determine how your systems are functioning.
Treatment may include bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, nutritional recommendations — provided by the on-staff functional nutritionist — exercise and stress management techniques, botanical medicines, and conventional medications.
